History - Introduction

The History department’s ethos is to provide an enjoyable curriculum for students at KS3, which explores a wide range of both British and world History. The objective of KS3 is to develop students’ use of second concepts whilst inspiring them to develop a love for History, which they can then choose to continue at KS4. The KS3 curriculum is designed to allow smooth transition to the KS4 course.

We aim to enrich the History curriculum with a range of opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom. In Year 7, the students visit The Tower of London. In Year 9, the students visit Duxford and get the opportunity to take part in the Ypres residential battlefields trip, and in Year 10, the students visit Hedingham Castle.
