The Ramsey Academy Ethos for SEND
The Ramsey Academy, an academy within the Bridge Academy Trust, is an 11-16 comprehensive secondary school which admits students to the school in line with the school’s admission procedure. Our ethos is for students of all abilities and backgrounds to feel valued so that they can reach their full potential.
The Ramsey Academy takes a whole school inclusive approach to students with special educational needs. The school recognises that a child or young person has SEN if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for them and, as defined in the 2014 Code of Practice, the school accepts that a young person has a learning difficulty or disability if they:
- Have a significantly greater difficulty in learning than most others of the same age; or
- Have a disability which prevents or hinders them from making use of educational facilities of a kind generally provided for others of the same age in mainstream
