Examination Results Day

Letter for Year 11 - 24th June 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware all the centre assessed grades are now with the exam boards and they are carrying out their process of moderation.

We are unable to share with you any details of the grades but please be assured that the school has done everything that we can to provide centre assessed grades as fairly and as accurately as possible for each student.

Looking forward to the results day which currently remains Thursday 20th August. We would like to share with you our current plans. Please remember that these are subject to change depending on government guidelines at the time.

Students will be asked to arrive at school on their own to collect their results in the time slot provided as detailed below.

Unfortunately, at this current time we cannot allow friends and family on site to collect the results with students, due to numbers. Students will be asked to line up using the markings on the ground to ensure social distancing when waiting for results.

If your child is unable to collect their results and wish for someone else to collect the results on their behalf, they must put this in writing before the end of term. The person collecting the results must have a form of identification with them on results day. If results are not collected on this day they will posted to the student.

We understand that this can be a difficult time for students, and we will do our best to support them through it. They are able to phone the school on this day or contact a member of SLT or the pastoral team through email. Mrs Barnes will also be available to answer questions relating to students’ next steps.

Students will be able to collect their leavers hoodie on this day. Photographs will be taken of students collecting their results and we will include these in the yearbook. We also ask if students have photographs that they would like included they should be sent to Mrs Harvey.

If your child does not feel that their grade reflects their performance, they may have the opportunity to take an exam in the autumn. We currently have no further details about this process.

As soon as we have any further information regarding the GCSE results or exams in the Autumn term, we will write to you again with the update.
