Congratulations to the Year 9 students who have graduated as the College’s new maths leaders.
The students were selected for their levels of maturity, leadership skills, maths ability and their aptitude to be positive role models for younger students.
The students have been involved in training events which have focused on what makes a good maths leader, how to plan maths sessions, how to communicate and motivate students, mathematical games and activities and maths across the curriculum. As part of their training, the students also planned successful sessions for the College’s Year 7 students.
It is now planned that the qualified students will be maths mentors for a number of students in the younger years as well as hopefully providing some outreach work with our local primary schools.
