On Sunday 13th May 2012 Year 7 Ramsey College students competed in the East Anglian Schools’ Championships and Essex & Suffolk Schools League at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.
All members of the squad put in a great performance. In the Year 7/8 girls’ event Georgia Gower came second, Lucy Edwards came third with Chloe Plumb coming in just outside the medals in fourth place. With such great performances they won the girls’ Year 7/8 team event
In the boys’ event Callum Turner was the second Year 7 boy to finish the 2.7 km yellow course and Tom Lock picked up silver in the 3.4 km orange course.
The event concluded the Essex and Suffolk Schools’ Orienteering League in which the students have been regularly competing at weekends. We now have the final standings with Georgia Gower coming in second place, Lucy Edwards in third and Callum Turner in third for the boys. Overall, The Ramsey College came third in the team event.
The college is extremely proud of the students’ achievements and the commitment they have shown in attending the college club as well as all the weekend events they have taken part in.
