29 January 2021
As I am sure you are aware, we have proceeded with our scheduled programme of interviews for September 2021 applicants. These have taken place over the telephone and we have been impressed by how informed and well-prepared applicants have been. Thank you for your hard work in supporting their applications during such trying times.
Given the difficulties we all face, we have decided to extend our application deadline until the end of February. Where they are able, we still very much recommend that students apply as soon as possible, in order to arrange an earlier interview date, but we hope that this extension does allow you a little more flexibility in your work with students should you require it.
Clearly one of the difficulties we’ve had this year has been the loss of opportunities to meet with applicants – we have been sad not to attend school assemblies and career conventions, or to welcome visitors to our site. We have worked hard to make material available online, and you may find the following useful:

Looking ahead, clearly, we would very much like to put in place an Induction event at the College in the summer and we have provisionally set aside the 5th and 6th July for this. We will keep you in touch as events unfold.
This is also an opportunity to comment upon arrangements regarding GCSE grades for summer 2021. As we are all aware, precise details regarding how GCSE and other grades will be awarded have not yet been released by the Government. We do, however, presume that students will be awarded GCSE grades in summer 2021 and that these grades will be in a format identical to those issued in previous years. In this context, the College plans to adhere to the entry criteria discussed at interview, also published in the College Prospectus and online at the start of the application process.
I hope that this information is useful to you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any queries about the admissions process in general, or on behalf of specific students.
In the meantime, we hope to see you all soon and I hope that you are faring well in such challenging times.
Good luck and stay safe.
