Kind hearted Oliver D in Year 7 has been using his artistic skills to raise money for Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital.
Oliver launched the artistic phase of his fundraising by asking his mother to place an ad on the local horse page asking people if they would like drawings of their horses, dogs or cats in return for a donation. A lady loved this picture so much she donated £20! Oliver also drew a lady's horse and she donated £15!
Oliver has a joint just giving page with his little brother. His brother is the reason they raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. He has chronic kidney disease and has had three surgeries last year. They started the page last June after his brother, Charlie had his 3rd surgery as they wanted to give something back to the hospital. Charlie is under constant care at GOSH and was due to go back in this month but this has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Between them they have raised just over £900. This has been a variety of things, sponsored pony rides, Charlie had a Peter Pan day at school, a 50 mile cycle in the summer holidays last year and as well as Olly’s art work. He and his brother are also completing the 2.6 challenge, but have extended that to a 26 mile run challenge. They are completing a mile a day.
