Oversubscription Allocation Criteria
There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given:
- Looked after children and previously looked after children;
- Children of staff members where:
(a) The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, and/or
(b) The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
- Children living in the priority admission area with a sibling attend the school;
- Other children living in the priority admission area;
- Children living outside the priority admission area with a sibling attending the school;
- Remaining applications.
In the event of oversubscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given highest priority. Exceptional medical circumstances (supported by medical evidence) may override the above criteria (other than looked after children and previously looked after children).

Arrangements for the Admission of Disabled Students
The Ramsey Academy is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all students and ensuring that students with disabilities are not treated less favourably. We welcome applications from disabled students and work to ensure that our admissions procedures do not disadvantage any child.
In line with the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice (2015), the school will:
- Consider all applications from disabled students on the same basis as all other applicants, following the admissions process.
- Make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled students can access the admissions process and any transition activities.
- Work closely with families, previous schools or education provisions, and relevant professionals to understand each child’s needs prior to admission.
- Review and assess any required adjustments to the school environment, curriculum, or support arrangements to enable the student to participate fully in school life.
- Ensure that no child is refused admission based on their disability, unless admitting the child would be incompatible with the efficient education of others and no reasonable adjustments could overcome this.
Prospective families of students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the school to discuss their child’s needs and any support that may be required. A copy of our Accessibility Policy, Equality Statement, SEND Policy and SEND Information Report are available on the school website.
