Pupil Premium
Statement of Intent
At The Ramsey Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil, regardless of their background or starting point, has access to high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive. The Pupil Premium funding plays a crucial role in helping us achieve equity by providing additional support for children who may face disadvantage.
Our Vision
Our aim is to close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers, not only in academic outcomes but also in personal development, wellbeing, and readiness for future success. We believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and it is our responsibility to remove barriers to learning and raise aspirations for all.
Our Approach
Our Pupil Premium strategy is rooted in the latest research, including the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) guidance, and is built around three key pillars:
High-Quality Teaching
- We prioritise excellent teaching for all pupils, recognising that this has the greatest impact on those who are disadvantaged. This includes investment in high-quality CPD, curriculum development, and inclusive classroom practice.
Targeted Academic Support
- We use data-driven approaches to identify pupils’ needs early and provide evidence-based interventions to support progress in literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas.
Wider Strategies for Personal Development and Wellbeing
- We support pupils beyond the classroom through a range of pastoral, social, and emotional interventions. This may include mentoring, attendance support, enrichment opportunities, and work with families and external agencies.
Our Commitment
- We will use Pupil Premium funding strategically, with a clear focus on long-term impact.
- We will regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of our strategy to ensure that it meets the changing needs of our pupils.
- We will work in partnership with parents and carers, recognising the vital role families play in supporting children’s learning.
- We will maintain high aspirations for all pupils, ensuring that disadvantaged children are supported to reach their full potential.
Accountability
- Our Pupil Premium strategy is reviewed annually and is monitored by the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing Body. The outcomes and impact are reported through our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement, which is published on this website and updated in line with statutory requirements.
