Dracula Spectacular – Stage Scenery and Props

A small group of enthusiastic scenery and prop designers/fabricators are making steady progress in producing weird and wonderful props. A number of them look remarkably like Gardening Club members come in from the cold!

Using bits of pallet wood and other scraps, we have made 25 gothic candle sticks and a couple of stakes (well, it is a musical about vampires!)

We are in full production of wooden stage blocks, which can be put together to form scenery on stage. These will be used to mock up an aeroplane and the furniture from an inn. The sheet material for these 16 blocks has been financed by a £200 Jack Petchey award secured by one of our drama students. They can be used for future productions – a valuable investment for the future.

Mobile gravestones (on wheels!) are coming off the production line. We are having fun using our imaginations and trust that we have achieved the right amount of creepiness.

We will be very busy next term constructing a bridge, a mad scientist’s lab, trapdoors and a painted backdrop.

We would welcome more members to join our team. We build our arcane props during lunchtimes and after school.
