Year 9 are currently writing 100 word mini sagas as part of a national story writing competition. This complements the English Faculty scheme of work on Gothic fiction. Following study of writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, Susan Hill and Robert Browning, students have been working on their own imaginative stories.
The competition deadline is December 24 so all entries must be in before the end of term. National winners will have their work published in an anthology and there are several prizes available. Mini sagas will be collected by English staff before the end of term. Alongside the national competition, Ramsey winners will also be selected. Look out for some of the best entries appearing in a future edition of The Ramsey Voice.
